Food Review : Alaturka Restaurant

I am a self-confessed meat lover. When I was in Perth, most fast-food is non-Halal so I became acquainted with Turkish food.I loved it so much that I developed an incurable disease called gout.It happens when the body cannot break down the protein fast enough and it got accumulated in your big toe in crystalline form.It is not life-threatening but it is indeed painful.
So that was how I got to know Turkish dishes like Iskander, shish kebab and doner kebab(there is a distinct difference),Samsun Pide and Lahmacun.I also became fascinated with everything Turkish and learned about their great Ottoman Empire,Suleyman The Magnificent,The Blue Mosque and so on.When I found out about this neat Turkish restaurant called Alaturka,I brought my wife there for lunch.

It is situated at the bohemian-looking Bussorah Street. The interior looked cosy with brick tiles and shishas hanging all around.I ordered the exotic-sounding Kuzupirzola and my wife ordered the Iskander. My wife is not adventurous when it comes to food and decided to play it safe by ordering something that she knows exactly what it is.The lamb was quite nice and the pilaf rice had some green herbs with a minty flavour. The Iskander was nothing to shout about but the chocolate mousse for dessert was nice.It left me feeling very full.It cost me only $34, not too damaging on the wallet.Highly recommended
