No More National Service???

Somebody way up in DSTA and DSO obviously watched too much Gundam/Terminator movies,or overplayed the Halo game on the X-box .Here's why :

Race to build Singapore’s urban warriorThe TechX Challenge, organised by Singapore’s Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA), was officially launched by the Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen this afternoon.
The inaugural competition will feature an urban race among robots that demonstrate capabilities in autonomous navigation and target engagement. The developers of the fastest robot that completes all the stipulated tasks within a specified time will be awarded a cash prize of S$1 million. The Finals of the Challenge is scheduled to be held in August 2008.

Calling upon all schools robotic club intructors to take up this challenge.Who knows,you might create futuristic robots that could hopefully replace and liberate all the existing robots(ie NS boys) from the conscription army.
