About A Girl (From Rags To Riches )

This is a story about Siti,a kampung girl who once lived in rural Kuala Lipis,Pahang.God blessed her with good looks that appeal to most Malay men;petite,sweet,demure,pure as snow white.She has that submissive Malay womanly woman with Asian values look,unlike modern city girls today who are deemed too crude,rude and loud.However,she has one glaring weakness,her Intelligence Quotient does not exceed 50.Word has it that she did not do quite well in high school,so she dropped out after failing her exams twice.To cover her daily expenses,she does the dishes at a nearby Mamak stall



Late into the nights,after toiling hard at the Mamak stall for pittance,Siti would often cry,wiping her tears with her crinkled-from-too-much -detergent- hands.She dreamt of fleeing to Kay-EL The Big City in search of a better life one day, where she would eventually meet her Prince Charming.

Her big break came in 1995,where there was this nation-wide audition to discover new talents,a-la American Idol.This singing competition has produced a lot of reputable crooners in the past.Siti knew what she had to do.She climbed up Gunung Tahan to search for special herbs and jamu to prepare a special concoction.This concoction was so potent that it could turn people who croak like toads into Johnny Cash.After several weeks of preparation,Siti was ready for Bintang RTM.

Needless to say,Siti won the competition hands down.Beside the top prize,she landed a lucrative recording deal and from that point of time, there was no turning back.The rest as they say,was history.She was no longer the smelly rural gal from Kuala Lipis who reeked of Axion.Siti was like a sponge,erasing the past and soaking up the future.She become the nation's most loved celebrity.Every Malay gal wanted to be her!!Fans,reporters,radio DJs,paparazis, every creature in Malaysia simply adored her!!

To cut a long story short,a prominent Malay tycoon fell in love with her. after watching her encore performance at Albert Hall.Shortly after a whirlwind courtship,they got married in what was called 'The Wedding Of The Year".The Malay Entertainment World has never witness such a grand and expensive wedding before.Her fairy tale was becoming a reality.


Siti and her Prince Charming lived happily ever after.So what do you eventually turn to when you have too much money and too little fashion sense?(not to mention all those yummy food that goes straight to your hips)Why,you turn into some sort of fashion freak of course.....
