Hahaha...I am not a gay hiding in the closet but I really like these special men.There are some similarities between a Gurkha and a Jedi
1. Both consider their profession to be the most honourable
2. Well-trained,fiercely loyal and can be trusted to do the job
3. Hired only to protect and uphold the peace,but not to fight a war
4. While a Jedi always carries a lightsaber, a Gurkha always carries a Kukri sword.How cool...
5. Both track down and kill Sith Lords (yeah right)
Let's say you instruct a Gurkha to guard the Istana and tell him 'No one is allowed to enter the Istana'.
When you come back five minutes later to enter the Istana,he will use all means necessary to stop even you,his commander.Such is their commitment to adhere to the job.
VVVVIPs in Singapore are known to hire them to protect their residence.I am also considering hiring a few as well.Every year, 22,000 young hopefuls from Nepal apply to join the Gurkha Contingent but only 370 are chosen.At the moment there are about 2000 of them living in Singapore and all of them are housed in Mt Vernon, a self-contained residence.Their code of conduct forbids them to have a Singaporean girlfriend.
Why is it that their physical fitness are so well-renowned that it has become legendary?I guess it must be that they are so used to living in the mountains with very little oxygen.When they come to places that are of lower altitude,their endurance are much,much better than our sissified NS boys,who does their 2.4km run in airconditioned gymnasiums.Cheh...!

Yah. We played against the Gurkha kids at MacPherson during the softball tourny and boy they were good...and cute too. Especially when they start talking in the rapid Gurkha tongue.
