Happy Father's Day

After three years of becoming a father,I finally got my Father's Day gift this year.It is in the form of a Spa package which includes a foot scrub, neck and shoulder massage and a facial.Shiok-ness!!!!

My daughter brought home her Report Book some time ago.It reminded me of the time when I have to face the wrath of my own father at the end of every school semester.I usually ace my primary school exams scoring 80s and 90s but my spastic form teacher would give a nasty remark like : Quite a mischievous boy in class incurring the anger of my father.

I wont be another kiasu parent who would sent their kids to Kumon,Braingym,Piano,Ballet,Pony Riding,IT classes,Adam Khoo Superkids,Drama and Speech at such an early age.I will only pay for the course of their own choice when I spot their true interests and talent.I believe you can only excel in things that you are interested in doing. If my son is talented in skateboarding ,I will encourage him to be as good as Tony Hawk.I would like to stress that mediocrity is unacceptable in Singapore as the our economy discriminates against the mediocre and untalented.

I will be your father figure
Put your tiny hand in mine
I will be your preacher teacher
Anything you have in mind
I will be your father figure
I have had enough of crime
I will be the one who loves you
Until the end of time

If you are the desert ,I'll be the sea
If you ever hunger, hunger for me
Whatever you ask for, that's what I'll be
