Yet Another Long,Incoherent Rant (Y.A.L.I.R)

For the love of God,why must Singapore be so borrriiiiiinggg.. !Wherever I roam, I see more of the same.Same malls, same retail shops..same pasar malam...same Giant hypermarts....you get the picture. Every weekend I really dont know where to chill.I even went to the Ministry Of Sound several weeks back amidst all the talk about it being such a cool and happening place with high hopes of getting a thrill and....almost fell asleep inside!!.It was packed to the brim with people pretending to be cool and I spent the entire time inside just looking for a place to sit.The only consolation I had about being there was that there were a lot of exotic cars on display(Maseratis,Porches and Ferraris) belonging to kids whose dads are tycoons of Singapore.Needless to say,I scooted off before the party endedI just dont have the zeal and mojo of a 25 year old lad anymore. My idea of a great time nowadays is to have a DVD marathon of cheesy movies while eating greasy food, much to the dismay of my wife, who has the energy of a raging bull..heheheh..After working for 16 hours a day,6 days a week,I am suffering from a burnout. I can, however,be rejuvenated if Singapore has any of these:

1. Nice park with a beautiful lake that I can have a quiet and peaceful breakfast with my wife and kids, while enjoying the scenery,on a Sunday morning

2. Nice beach, with masseurs offering their services like the ones available in Bali or Phuket.East Coast Park and Changi Beach just CMI(cannot make it)

3. Nice uncrowded shopping malls with free parking, akin the old IMM,which is becoming too crowded on weekends nowadays.

4. Revival of the old Satay Club where aunties dont reserve tables by placing tissues on it.I am aware that now we have a mutated Satay Club called the Gluttons Square.Gah!

5.A decent(and safe)amusement park where my kids can be amused with merry go rounds and ferris wheel. The ones available at pasar malams make my manberries scream 'Blue Murder!'

What I(and I might not be alone here) really need is a wind of change or a tide of shift.I make no apology about myself being a person who gets bored easily.Singapore has turned into a large commercialised and soulless island and I do wonder if this is one of the joys of being in a First World Country.
