Another Saccharine Sweet NDP Song(Long Post)

As a kid nong, nong ago,I am overwhelmed with a strange, patriotic emotion every year during National Day(OK, I'm shallow, so sue me).Strangely this year,I get the same vibes whenever the song 'My Island Home' is played.Keira Gong, the tunesmith for this year's NDP,delivered the song with a melancholic feel.It reminds me of why I choose to live in Singapore over Australia, despite having these luxuries in Arsetralia
  • Owning a fully paid 1.8l car,and living in a beach house overlooking the vast Indian Ocean(On the contrary, living in Singapore means a pigeon hole with 99 years lease for you and driving a car that technically belongs to the bank
  • Able to go on long, scenic and hilly drives. The Great Eastern Highway that stretches from Perth to Sydney can really eat up our PIE
  • Tutoring at Curtin Business School(I scored distinctions in Marketing and Business Statistics!!What a big showoff !!)
  • Can be my own weird self without having ppl raising eyebrows around
  • Can defy the Singapore Gahmen by answering the question,"What are you going to do about it?"
  • Can go see a strip show at SEXPO.(Hehehehe..what to do I am a guyright?...its in my DNA)

The list above is not exhaustive and can go on and on till eternity. Please dont flame me by saying how silly I am and that I made a wrong decision to come back to little red dot.Part of being an adult involves making decisions and living with them, and the reason Sinkapore is my choice can be found between the lines of these verses

This is my home

She's everything to me

Grace and beauty

In all that you see

My island home

Wherever I may be

I never will forget her

Nor will she forget me

And I will sing

A song of home

A land of peace

Where dreams are born everyday

My home

Wherever I may be

I believeYou will always be a part of me

My island home

Home of my family

This is my future

Where I want to be

Australia you are not my country. No worries and toodles, myte!!!
